Pledge to buy Community Shares issued by the Friends of the Gardeners!
Dear supporter,
As you know, The Gardeners Inn, Cossall was closed in February 2022 following being bought by a property developer who submitted plans to knock it down and build five detached houses in its place. Patrons of the pub, who came together to form The Friends of the Gardeners Inn group in opposition to the plans, are now asking for your help to raise the funds required to save and refurbish the pub.
At this stage we are inviting you to ‘pledge’ to buy Community Shares in the Pub. The pledge target is £170,000 by Sunday June 9th 2024, so don’t delay. An application to the Community Ownership Fund for £250,000 will be submitted if this target is reached.
If you have some money available to buy community shares in the pub and would like to support the campaign to save The Gardeners Inn for future communities and also potentially receive interest on your investment then please act now! Local businesses can also take part and help support this fabulous community meeting place.
NB. We won’t be asking for any actual money until the Fund application is accepted and a sale is agreed. A ‘Common Questions’ document is attached for you information.
