My name is Dan and this year I volunteered to be your Young Member Coordinator.

First of all, I’d like to thank Natalie for all her work during her time as Young Members co-ordinator. Many hours planning socials, organising the beer festival and keeping everyone up to date on the socials.

Going forward, I hope to continue on from Natalies great work! I’m looking forward to helping out with the general running of the CAMRA branch but more importantly making CAMRA more appealing to young people. I have been a CAMRA member since my 3rd year of uni but only became an active member when I started volunteering at the beer festival in 2019 and have volunteered every year since. I’m now part of the cellar team and have been enjoying learning the ropes of looking after your beer at the festival.

I’ve also been involved with the University of Nottingham Real Ale and Cider Society for many years and look forward to working with them and Nottingham Trent University Societies to make CAMRA more inviting to students.

I’m a serial beer ticker and pub explorer so if you see me out and about in any of Nottingham’s many great pubs, feel free to say hello. Beyond beer and pubs, I’ll happily to talk you about nearly any sport on earth, useless pub quiz trivia or whatever random conversational rabbit hole we find ourselves in.

As a volunteer, there’s no pressure to attend or get involved with every campaign or event, and this flexibility has allowed me to continue with my studies at university and a full time job. However much or however little time you have to give, volunteers are always welcome. Each new member, whatever their involvement, help to keep this invaluable campaign alive and more importantly, thriving.

Why should you join CAMRA?
