Branch support for #31PubsInJanuary with a Beeston Social Trip on Friday 10th January!

As recently reported in the Nottingham Post the #31PubsInJanuary is being actively promoted by Castle Rock in support of all pubs.

You can read the full details of their support and how to get involved from the link below:

Celebrate Pubs This January!

All CAMRA Members that received our December Newsletter will have hopefully seen the article on a social crawl planned for Friday the 10th of January. From a starting point of the White Lion in Beeston at 2.30pm, they’ll be a leisurely stroll, taking in a number of the well known pubs, e.g. the Star Inn, Victoria Hotel and Crown Inn, along with a few others that are definitely making Beeston a must visit beer location!

Whilst a new entrant in the 2025 Good Beer Guide, The Pottle, is unfortunately temporarily closed for a well earned post-festive break, the Glass Orchid is newly opened under the One Union Pub Company, so that’ll be one to check out. With a number of venues all within easy walking distance from the centre, we’ll be spoiled for choice, with only time, money or drinking capacity being limiting factors!

It’s highly likely that a visit to the Totally Tapped and The Hop Pole will be the last stop off points in Beeston, before jumping on a local bus for the brief trip to The Bird Hide, in Attenborough, which will be the final destination around 7.30pm.

For anyone that’s not done a Branch social before, it’s a relaxed affair, and so whilst we try to shuffle along as a group, we all drink at a different pace and quantity, so there’s not a set itinerary, with specific timings or a definitive list of pubs to be visited. If you’re loving one venue and happy to skip the next and then want to catch up after that, our Social Secretary Clive will only be a text away, 07767 062038.

If you really want to make a dent in your #31PubsInJanuary target, there’s definitely a lot of pubs to consider in Beeston, just visit the Pubs & Clubs section of our national site to check them all out!

Anyone is welcome to join the crawl, and if you’re not a CAMRA member and want to find out more, John, our Membership Secretary and Beeston drinker will be around on the day. Or you can e-mail him on membership@nottinghamcamra.org.

We hope to see you at a venue on Friday!
