
The Hucknall Beer & Cider Festival was held at the John Godber Centre from Thursday 12th February until Sunday 15th February.
The festival was a great success with hundreds of visitors enjoying the excellent range of cask ales and ciders.
The Spyke Golding competition received 639 judging sheets, with all beers receiving very high scores.
The winner of the Spyke Golding Challenge Shield was awarded to Magpie Brewery for their Without Prejudice, a 11% Imperial Chocolate Pastry Stout, image as above.
The following beers were all recognised as “Highly Commended”:
- Blue Monkey – Bebok, a 5.5% Americal Brown Ale
- Lincoln Green – Greenwood, a 5.5% Extra Special Bitter
- Grumpy Fish – Spared No Expense, a 4.7% Hazy Pale Ale
The festival is a charity fundraiser for the John Godber Centre, registered charity 1132272. There is a dedicated Facebook page for the Festival, which includes a lot of images for each day of the event and clearly shows the great time everyone was having!
