“What Makes a Good Beer Great?”

A Matter of Opinion!

Beers drinkers are being asked for their feedback by a Nottinghamshire-based brewery in its quest to create the perfect pint!

Lincoln Green Brewing Company, in Hucknall, launched the first batch of a new ale called ‘What makes a good beer great? Batch #01’was available from January 24th in all of their Notts pubs and they’ve now produced a video on the feedback from the Tasting Panel session at The Station Hotel.

Batch #1 Tasting Panel

The video provides feedback from the Panel and a discussion with the brewer, Carl Heron, who is managing the developments for each Batch.

Batch #2 was launched on February 21st and Batch #3 was launched on March 20th, with both involving a dedicated tasting panel group at The Station Hotel and supply across all of their pubs. As before the pump clip had a QR code to encourage feedback from all drinkers at their pubs, which alongside the tasting panels input will help inform changes.

Batch #4 was launched on Wednesday April 24th and following that Anthony Hughes was pleased to provide the following update “I am happy to report that Batch#4 was approved by the tasting panel – all bar two members felt it was the best batch to date and any further amends would be striving for perfection. It’s a nicely balanced pale ale, quite unlike anything else on the market in a similar vein – which will either be a good thing or a bad thing; only time will tell!”

So the next stage of it’s formal launch will be a Beer Naming competition, which needs to have a Robin Hood theme to it. Full details has been communicated on social media on the 7th July with a prize for the winner that includes, a FREE brewery tour (includes tour of the brewery, bottle of beer on arrival, fish and chip lunch at The Station Hotel and a pint to wash it down with) PLUS a case of 12 bottles of your choice.
